Rail sleeper pads and clips
Polypropylene pads, injection moulded under high pressure, that sit flat, stay in the sleeper and hold their shape in the heat of underground workings.
Developed from a field problem
A sleeper pad has a simple job, and it fails in simple ways. Pads that warp do not sit flat, and pads that do not sit flat work loose and fall out of the sleepers before they ever reach the rail line.
Our pad was developed through trials with several materials to solve exactly that. The result is a polypropylene pad, moulded in a closed tool, that arrives flat and stays where it is fitted.
Chosen through trials for the conditions underground.
Moulded, not stamped
Many pads on the market are cut or stamped from extruded sheet. Stress locked into the sheet as it cools can make those pads bend, and stamping leaves flash on the edges.
Every Almoguera pad is injection moulded under high pressure in its own cavity. Each one comes out of the tool at the same shape, thickness and weight, batch after batch.
